چکیده

The aim. To evaluate the rate of long-term complications on ascending aorta after bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) replacement depending type defect (stenosis or insufficiency) and to determine indications certain surgery in this category patients.
Materials methods. One hundred five patients underwent BAV between 2007 2014. were divided into two groups. Group 1 included 63 with stenosis prevalence, group 2 42 insufficiency. Aortic diameter at level sinuses Valsalva was assessed preoperatively postoperative period.
 Results. Long-term results studied 86 (81.9%) during 6.8 ± 2.2 years average. Sixteen (18.6%) developed complications: 6 (6.9%) them had progressive dilatation (10% from initial diameter), aneurysm formation detected 8 cases (9.3%) dissection, patient (1.3%) rupture. Freedom within 13 95.1% 62.3% 2. dissection 90.1% average (97% 80.6% 2).
Conclusion. tactics correction depends its and, a lesser extent, presence insufficiency valve. With existing up 4.5 cm, it is possible consider without intervention aorta. such situation often requires additional manipulations

Aortic Dilatation at Different Levels of the Ascending Aorta in Patients with Bicuspid Aortic Valve.

INTRODUCTION Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is the most common form of adult congenital heart disease. When compared to patients with a normal trileaflet aortic valve, dilatation of the aortic root and the ascending aorta (Asc Ao) are the common findings in patients with BAV, with consequent higher risk of developing aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection and rupture. We aim to determine the site of t...

Bicuspid aortic valve: theoretical and clinical aspects of concomitant ascending aorta replacement.

Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is associated with annuloaortic ectasia, dissection and ascending aortic aneurysm. The high incidence of this congenital malformation and aortic disease suggests a close correlation between the two phenomena. Abnormalities in different phases of cell migration of the neural crest might be responsible for the occurrence of abnormalities in the aortic valve, media laye...

[Aortic root homograft in the surgical treatment of aortic valve disease with dilated ascending aorta].

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES Patients with aortic valve disease and a dilated ascending aorta are usually treated with a composite graft comprising a valve and conduit. We review here the results of treatment with an aortic root homograft as a valid alternative. PATIENTS AND METHOD Twenty-two consecutive patients with a mean age of 64.8 (8.8) years were studied. Mean ascending aorta dilation w...

Current Indications for Surgical Repair in Patients with Bicuspid Aortic Valve and Ascending Aortic Ectasia

Preventive surgical repair of the moderately dilated ascending aorta/aortic root in patients with bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) is controversial. Most international reference centers are currently proposing a proactive approach for BAV patients with a maximum ascending aortic/root diameter of 45 mm since the risk of dissection/rupture raises significantly with an aneurysm diameter >50 mm. Current...
